How to enable or reset Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection to your account by requiring a one-time verification code in addition to your password.
At Safe2transact, there are two types of 2FA you can enable:
- 2-Factor authentication – adds an extra verification step each time you sign in to your account.
- Transaction 2-Factor authentication – protects your funds by requiring a verification code before completing transactions. This essential security step is mandatory for all users.
Enable 2-Factor authentication (2FA):
- In Safe2transact wallet select Security in the left sidebar.
- Go to Transaction 2-Factor authentication or 2-Factor authentication section.
- Press the switch on.
- Enable 2FA following the instructions on the screen.
Reset Transaction 2-Factor authentication (2FA):
- In Safe2transact wallet select Security in the left sidebar.
- Go to Transaction 2-Factor authentication.
- Click the Refresh icon (circular arrow) to reset 2FA.
- In your authenticator app, add the new entry (scan the QR code) and confirm with the 6-digit code.
- After the new Transaction 2FA is confirmed, remove the old Safe2transact entry from your authenticator app.
Reset Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for login:
- In Safe2transact wallet select Security in the left sidebar.
- Under 2-Factor authentication, turn 2FA off.
- Turn 2FA back on to generate a new QR code.
