How to enable or reset Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection to your account by requiring a one-time verification code in addition to your password.

At Safe2transact, there are two types of 2FA you can enable:

  • 2-Factor authentication – adds an extra verification step each time you sign in to your account.
  • Transaction 2-Factor authentication – protects your funds by requiring a verification code before completing transactions. This essential security step is mandatory for all users.

Enable 2-Factor authentication (2FA):

  • In Safe2transact wallet select Security in the left sidebar.
  • Go to Transaction 2-Factor authentication or 2-Factor authentication section.
  • Press the switch on.
  • Enable 2FA following the instructions on the screen.

Reset Transaction 2-Factor authentication (2FA):

Reset Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for login:

  • Under 2-Factor authentication, turn 2FA off.
  • Turn 2FA back on to generate a new QR code.
  • In your authenticator app, add the new entry (scan the QR code) and confirm with the 6-digit code.
  • After the new 2FA is confirmed, remove the old Safe2transact entry from your authenticator app.
